FastTrack runs on common devices with Web access, like iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android; and Mac, Windows, or Linux laptops.

Cosanta FastTrack is a web-based application that allows health organizations to monitor their operations in real time. Using mobile devices or laptops running FastTrack, clinic staff can rapidly collect data such as vaccination distribution or patient demographics. This data is immediately processed and stored securely on the internet, where operational statistics are generated and made available to decision makers.

Scenarios

1

Vaccine lot # monitoring: using a blackberry phone, a public-health manager at a local health department (LHD) can easily monitor the specific amount and rate of Tdap vaccine distribution by lot number on a per-minute/hour basis. When it comes time to draw more vaccine for the next hour of the clinic, an accurate estimate of the expected draw can be provided to the pharmacy team.

2

Client wait time: during a large seasonal flu clinic, many more clients are waiting in line than anticipated. Staff who are outside the building, managing the line, can use their phones to monitor the rate at which clients are being processed by the clinic and can let people know how much time they will likely be in line.

3

Mobile PODs: instead of running one large seasonal flu clinic, a LHD decides to run multiple clinics in various locations throughout the county. Using FastTrack, the staff can monitor how much vaccine each mobile team distributes in real-time, without having to interrupt them with phone calls.

4

Clinic surveys: LHD staff are trying to understand why people are attending some of their clinics and not others. Unable to spend the resources to print surveys and process the data, the LHD can instead use volunteers armed with phones or iPads to gather the data from clients while they are waiting in line. All the results are tabulated and immediately available.
